Thank you, Robert. For IDEA: Inundate, Deviate, Enhance, and Assemble, do you have some quick examples how other pro's do it? (Being creatively lazy today ;-)

Dan,
thank you for posting a link in linked-in. Both, your article and Newsweek's, were interesting reads. Your IDEA method explains HOW to do some creative stuff. It is a very important skill. I think, there is another aspect to the lack of interest in creativity that isn't discussed in both articles.

The lack of interest in creativity is dictated by the fact that creativity on itself isn't a directly consumable skill. Economies and businesses can't survive with it. There are other links in the chain, that are necessary to make sense out of creativity. In fact, the most of unguided creativity is a waste. Businesses can't tolerate it. It is important to know how to guide creativity into creating impact-strong outcomes. It is the methodical link that turns creativity into innovation.

I've been working on a method that describes WHAT, WHY, and frameworks HOW of creative work on a meta level. Simply put, the method I've been working on builds a bridge between creative performance and innovative performance. If you have an interest to discuss it and collaborate putting it into practice and spreading the word, let me know.

Bob - great commentary. A big part of the problem is that our schools are not encouraging such thinking. I fear that with the cuts in educational funding it's going to get worse. There was an editorial along these lines in the NY Times in the past month or so. Dad Z

Rob,
I agree with your premis, the thing is that people are now not less creative than before 1990, but they are being less creative because they are not using their skills. It is just like parents tell their kids all the time, "use your brain, or your brain will stop working" Your method seems to be a good jumpstart to getting the brain working again.

Thanks,
Dan
